Privacy policy.
What we collect, why we collect it, and what happens to it.
Morton Marine is a boat cleaning and detailing business serving St. Augustine and Northeast Florida. This policy explains what information mortonmarinegroup.com collects and how it is handled. It is written to describe what the site actually does, not to cover things we do not do.
What we collect
When you fill out the estimate form, you give us the details you type into it. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and information about your boat and what it needs.
Like nearly every website, our host records standard server logs. These include IP addresses, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps.
We do not ask for, and have no way to receive, payment card details through this website.
Why we collect it
The information in the estimate form is used to prepare your estimate and to contact you about it. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell it, rent it, or trade it, and we do not add you to a marketing list just because you asked for a quote.
The form includes a separate, optional checkbox for seasonal detailing reminders and specials. If you check that box, we add your name and email to our mailing list to send those occasional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails, or by asking us directly.
Server logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
How long we keep it
Estimate requests arrive as email and are kept as long as they are useful for servicing the customer relationship. If you would like your enquiry deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Services this site uses
Some parts of the site load content from other companies. When your browser requests that content, those companies necessarily receive your IP address and basic request information. Specifically:
- Mailchimp — if you opt in to seasonal reminders on the estimate form, your name and email are added to our mailing list there to send those emails.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces used across the site are served by Google.
- NOAA and the National Weather Service — the tide and conditions section requests live data from these US government agencies.
- OpenFreeMap and unpkg — the wind map loads map tiles and the mapping library from these sources.
- Our host and site plugins — the site runs on WordPress with hosting, security, caching and analytics plugins, some of which set cookies or record aggregate visit statistics.
Each of these has its own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Cookies
We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, and we do not run advertising on this site. Some plugins may set functional or analytics cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
Children
This site is intended for adults arranging boat services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address below and we will handle it. You can also simply not submit the form: nothing on this site requires you to identify yourself in order to read it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or requests about your information, can go to [email protected], or through the estimate form.
Note on the tide and wind section: it displays public data from NOAA and the National Weather Service for general planning. It is not for navigation, and we do not guarantee its accuracy or availability.
